The color violently drained from Tyler’s face. Marcus had deleted the footage from the local hard drive in the house, but he had no idea Grandmother Rose had routed all security feeds through her encrypted corporate servers.
The projector flared to life. High-definition, timestamped footage filled the wall.
The screen showed the sun-drenched deck. It showed Tyler backing me into the railing. It showed the rage on his face. And, with crystal clear precision, it showed him planting both hands on my shoulders and violently shoving me backward through the splintering wood.
The conference room descended into absolute chaos. My mother shrieked. Tyler shoved his chair back, scrambling toward the door like a cornered rat.
"You can't use that!" my father roared. "That’s illegally obtained!"
"It's company property, Harold," I replied coldly. "And as the sole owner of the company, I can share it with whomever I please. Including them."
The conference room doors swung open. Two state police detectives walked in, handcuffs already off their belts. Right behind them stood Lauren, clutching a sworn affidavit in her trembling hands.
"Tyler Hayes," the lead detective said, grabbing my brother by the lapel of his expensive suit and slamming him against the mahogany table. "You are under arrest for the attempted murder of Bridget Hayes."

"Mom! Dad! Do something!" Tyler screamed as the steel cuffs clicked around his wrists.
"Officers," I added, staring dead into my father's horrified eyes. "I'd also like to formally press charges against Harold and Diane Hayes for accessory after the fact, conspiracy to commit fraud, and witness tampering."
