Chương 5

Now that belief was beginning to break apart.
The pain was still there.
The confusion was still there.
But the loneliness was becoming smaller.
The black dog moved closer and rested beside him.
The young man placed his hand gently on its head.
“I remember you,” he whispered.
The dog remained still.
The German Shepherd moved beside them, creating a quiet circle around the people who had been separated for so long.
The woman watched the reunion with tears in her eyes.
She had spent years carrying the responsibility of a secret.
Seeing the truth finally reach him felt like putting down a heavy weight.
The uniformed man looked toward the crowd.
The tension that filled the room earlier had disappeared.
In its place was something calmer.
Something honest.
The young man looked at the person in front of him.
“I have so many questions.”
The person nodded.
“You should.”
“I want the truth.”
“You deserve all of it.”
The young man looked toward the woman.
“Everything?”
She nodded.
“Everything.”
The person sat down near the table, and the others followed.
The dogs remained nearby, keeping their quiet watch.
The massive event hall no longer felt like a place of confrontation.
It felt like a place where broken pieces were being carefully put back together.
The young man sat across from the people who held the answers to his past.
For the first time in his life, he was not searching for clues.
The clues were finally coming to him.
The person looked at him with sadness and love.
“There is something else you need to know about that night.”
The young man became still.
The woman exchanged a glance with the uniformed man.
The dogs lifted their heads.
Everyone understood that the final part of the story was the one that changed everything.
The young man leaned forward.
“What happened?”
The person looked at him for a long moment.
Then they finally spoke.
“The accident was not the reason we were separated.”
The young man felt his heart drop.
“Then what was?”
The person looked toward the dogs.
“It was because someone wanted you to disappear from the story completely.”
The atmosphere in the hall changed again.
The young man slowly looked around.
The truth he had been searching for was deeper than he imagined.
And now, after years of silence, the hidden reason behind everything was finally about to be revealed.
The young man remained completely still after hearing those words.
The noise of the event hall seemed to disappear, leaving only the sound of his own breathing.
He looked from one person to another, searching for a sign that he had misunderstood.
Nobody looked away.
Nobody corrected the statement.
The truth was standing in front of him, waiting for him to accept it.
“Someone wanted me to disappear?” he asked quietly.
The person who had just arrived nodded with a heavy expression.
“Yes.”
The young man felt a cold feeling move through him.
His entire life had been built around unanswered questions.
He had always assumed the missing pieces were caused by an unfortunate accident or a painful decision.
He never imagined there was a deliberate choice behind it.
“Who?” he asked.
The woman beside him closed her eyes briefly.
She knew this was the moment they had all been avoiding.
The person across from him looked toward the uniformed man.
The man gave a small nod.
“We need to tell him everything.”
The young man noticed the seriousness in their faces.
This was no longer just about old memories.
This was about something that had continued affecting his entire life.
The person placed the photograph back on the table.
“After the accident, there were people who believed you were a problem they needed to remove.”
The young man frowned.
“A problem?”
The person shook their head.
“You were never the problem.”
“Your existence was the problem for people who wanted to hide what happened.”
The young man felt anger rising inside him.
“Why would anyone care about hiding me?”
The woman slowly answered.
“Because you were a witness.”
The words hit him immediately.
“A witness to what?”
The woman looked toward the uniformed man.
He stepped forward.
“The accident was not just an accident.”
The young man stared at him.
“What are you saying?”
The uniformed man folded his hands together.
“I am saying that what happened that night was caused by someone’s actions.”
The hall became silent again.
The young man looked down at the dogs.
The animals remained calm, but their attention stayed focused on the conversation.
The person who had arrived reached out and touched the photograph gently.
“You were young, but you saw something important.”
The young man shook his head.
“I do not remember.”
“You remember more than you think.”
The person looked at him carefully.
“Your mind protected you from memories that were too painful.”
The young man tried to search through his thoughts.
Images appeared and disappeared.
A dark road.
A loud sound.
People shouting.
The dogs running.
A hand pulling him away from danger.
He covered his face for a moment.
Fragments were returning.
Not complete memories.
Just pieces.
The woman noticed his reaction.
“Do not force yourself.”
“But you need to know why everyone fought so hard to keep you safe.”
The young man lowered his hands.
The anger in his expression was now mixed with fear.
“Who was trying to hide this?”
Nobody answered immediately.
That silence told him the answer was complicated.
The person finally spoke.
“Someone close to the situation.”
The young man felt his stomach tighten.
“Someone I knew?”
The person looked away.
“Yes.”
The word was quiet.
But it carried enormous weight.
The young man stood up from his chair.
He needed movement.
He needed space.
The walls of the hall suddenly felt too close.
The dogs watched him carefully as he walked a few steps away.
May you like
He looked toward the large windows.
Outside, people moved through the world without knowing that his entire understanding of his past had just changed.
