He later earned a master’s degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2025. Federal Election Commission records indicate he contributed $25 to then-Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election cycle.
President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and several Cabinet members were attending the dinner. They were escorted from the venue by the Secret Service after the incident. The White House press pool initially remained at the hotel as the situation unfolded.
The shooting occurred in a busy area of the complex typically used for guided tours. The Secret Service had previously investigated and closed the case without identifying a suspect, citing a lack of usable forensic evidence and inconclusive surveillance footage. These new details have reignited public interest in security protocols at high-profile events.
