Supreme Court Delivers Unanimous 9-0 Ruling, Surprising Court Observers

WASHINGTON, D.C. — April 21, 2026

In a powerful, unanimous 9-0 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a significant victory for religious liberty and the First Amendment, demonstrating that efforts against Christianity and free speech are being challenged under President Donald Trump’s America First influence.

The Court ruled that evangelical Christian Gabriel Olivier can proceed with his civil rights lawsuit against the city of Brandon, Mississippi, after he was arrested for peacefully preaching near a suburban amphitheater. Local officials had attempted to silence him by confining him to a "protest zone," but the Supreme Court intervened.

Justice Elena Kagan wrote for the unanimous Court: “Olivier’s suit merely attempts to prevent a future prosecution… His suit to enjoin the ordinance, so he can return to the amphitheater, may proceed.”
