Part 2: The Young Mother Shook Her Head in Panic
“No… this is impossible. This bracelet was given to me. I didn’t steal anything.”
The woman in blue raised a hand immediately.
“I don’t think you stole it.”
Her voice was softer now… but heavier.
She looked at the baby again, her eyes trembling.
“My son… Ethan… he went missing three years ago.”
A sharp silence cut through the air.
Even the cashier stopped moving.
The woman continued, barely able to breathe between words:
“We never found him. Just his belongings… and one report that said a woman was seen leaving a hospital the same night he disappeared.”
The young mother’s face went pale.
“I was in a hospital that night,” she whispered. “I gave birth that night.”
The two women stared at each other.
The baby shifted in the mother’s arms.
The woman in blue slowly stepped closer again—but not with anger.
With disbelief.
She gently reached toward the bracelet.
Her fingers stopped just before touching it.
“Where did you get him?” she asked, voice breaking.
The young mother shook her head, tears falling again.
“I don’t know… I woke up after childbirth and they handed him to me. No questions. No explanation. Just… him.”
The woman in blue staggered back a step.
Her breath shook.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then the woman in blue whispered something that changed everything:
“Then we need answers… because that bracelet… was on my son when he disappeared.”
The baby cried louder again.
But now, it didn’t sound like just a cry.
It sounded like the beginning of a truth neither of them were ready to face.
